Limequat
As it can be easily guessed, limequat is a hybrid citrus variety, the result of a lime and kumquat combination dated from 1909. They are small, tropical-type fruits, good source of folic acid and vitamin C. Limequat can be used in many applications: raw, pressed for citrus kick in cocktails, candied or cooked (the seeds will have to be removed).
This fruit pairs well with chicken, avocado, lychee, chocolate and offer a pretty long shelf-life when stored in refrigerator (up to one month). Limequats are available during winter, try them in limequat pies, a famous American pastry in Florida.
