Red Flesh Pitaya' skin color varies from pink, to red-brown. It is covered in scales that overlap eachother. Underneath it, a crimson red flesh reveals itself, containing tiny, black, edible seeds. The flesh has a dense, semi-firm, and tender, aqueous consistency. The crunchy texture from the seeds contrast with the soft flesh and is remniscent of the kiwi. The red flesh pitaya has a delicate, sweet, earthy, and mildly acidic flavor combined with a faint nuttiness from the seeds.
