Sucrine

The sucrine is a small lettuce with a slightly elongated shape and thick, tight and fleshy leaves, mainly grown in the South of France. Its wavy and crunchy leaves are subtly sweet, hence its name, and can be served as a salad or as a hot side dish when pan-fried or stewed.
